The 6th Bridge Queens tournament and 3rd commemorative Navine Rose Bridge Queens at ACOL Bridge Club in West Hampstead raised over £3500 for Jewish Care recently. Fund raised will help fund Jewish Care buses taking members to and from community centres where older people can socialise, enjoy meaningful, stimulating activities and a hot, kosher lunch in the community centre café. Danielle and Ashton and Melanie Sherwood won first place at the event which provides the perfect opportunity for women with busy lives to network and enjoy a game of bridge whilst raising funds to support older people in the community.
Jackie Lawson, Committee Chair said, ‘The Bridge Queens Committee organise this annual commemorative bridge morning to remember a very special lady, Nevine Rose. It was a lovely morning and raised over £3500 for Jewish Care buses that take people to Jewish Care community centres and centres for people living with dementia. It’s been a success in encouraging young players to come into the club and play bridge and we look forward to welcoming even more people to join us next year.’
