AAD unconditionally condemns and is disgusted by the unprovoked attack , on and abusive treatment of, Rabbi Arnold Saunders the local Conservative Party candidate at the Bilal Mosque in Prestwich, Manchester.

This is yet again indicative of the anti semitic behaviour of large sections of the Muslim Community in the United Kindgdom towards the Jewish Community which includes the so- called “peace marches” where anti Israel and anti semitic slogans are regularly chanted.

This incident comes in the wake of the suspended non custodial sentence for Gabriel Abdullah who made anti semitic comments and branded a knife at staff in Kay’s supermarket in Golders Green in January 2024.

The established authorities including  the police and local politicians  must seriously clamp down harder on this behaviour, protect the Jewish Community and arrest and charge all known perpetrators.

It will be interesting to see whether or not the Labour Party and Sir Keir Starmer come out and condemn this behaviour.  If they do not,  it will yet again diminish the trust of the Jewish Community in the Labour Party and Sir Keir Starmer.
