Meanwhile Jewish Care residents of care homes, tenants at our Retirement Living apartments enjoyed being in the Succah.
At Jewish Care’s Pears Court at Sandringham, tenants really enjoyed getting together for their first Succot to shake the lulav and etrog in the beautiful Succah surrounded by creative artwork by Valerie and Joyce.
Valerie said that painting the pictures of the fruit for the Succah led her to learning a lot about the symbolism of the festival. They also hung blue decorations to raise awareness and show their support for people living with dementia for World Alzheimer’s Month.
Shirley Jacobs, one of the tenants, said, “I’m really enjoying celebrating Succot here, there’s a wonderful atmosphere and the people are wonderful.”
