A parade of WW2 veterans took place on Sunday for the 75th annual Heathlands parade, with temperatures in the low 30s.
The parade took place in the Heathlands Village car park with the Bess’s O’Th Barn Brass Band playing, under the direction of David Hodgikinson.
It started with a general salute by AJEX chairman Mr Joe Flacks and reviewing officer Brigadier A K Crawford, accompanied by AJEX National chairman Colonel Martin Newman.
The exhortation was read by David Teacher MBE. Rabbi Councillor Arnold Saunders lead the service, Ivan Lewis Bury South MP and Mayors from Bury and Manchester were in attendance.
