The first-ever Kisharon Langdon Golf Days were a tremendous success, raising an incredible £65,000 over two days of competitive golf at the prestigious Hartsbourne Country Club. Held on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th September, this inaugural event as a merged charity brought together supporters, sponsors, and golfers for two days of camaraderie, fun, and philanthropy.

44 teams participated over the two days on the club’s remarkable 18-hole Willow course in a Stableford team competition. Participants enjoyed a lively atmosphere, with a healthy Kosher breakfast to start each morning, a halfway house refreshment break, and a delicious buffet lunch, allowing players and guests to dine together and celebrate their contributions to a great cause.

Kisharon Langdon Chief Executive Richard Franklin expressed his gratitude:
“It was wonderful to see such support from our very generous golfing audience who clearly were so impacted on hearing what Kisharon Langdon enables for our learning disability and autism community. To have both a parent and a person we support at the tournament too, sharing such positive experiences of our education, day opportunities and supportive living assistance programmes, will live long in the memory of all who were present. A big thank you to committee chair Tony Franks for his dedication and hard work in making this event such a success!”

Prizes were awarded to the winning teams on both days, with Day one’s victory going to Tony Khalastchi, Michael Khalastchi, Ben Buck and Haydn Fentum and Day two’s honours claimed by Max Harris, Steve Marlow, Reece Parmenter and Julian Evans. Both teams exemplified skill, sportsmanship and passion for the cause.

In addition to the competition, the event featured raffles and a silent auction, which ran across both days, further boosting the total funds raised. All proceeds will go towards the vital services provided by Kisharon Langdon, helping individuals with learning disabilities live fulfilling and independent lives.

Adam Overlander-Kaye, Director of Fundraising, added: “This event marked an important milestone for our merged charity. The incredible funds raised will make a tangible difference to the people we support, ensuring they can continue to thrive and access life-enhancing opportunities. We were also delighted to have pupils from Wohl Campus, Kisharon Noé School, a Loftus Learning Centre, joined us at the golf club, sharing their enthusiasm with the players before lunch! We look forward to welcoming everyone back for next year’s event and continuing to grow this important tradition.”

The Kisharon Langdon Golf Days were a testament to the strength of community support and the shared commitment to ensuring that people with learning disabilities and autistic people have every opportunity to thrive.
