The children at the Aleph Centre and HGSS enjoyed an interactive Purim event over Zoom, creating their own Purim spin drums with artist Emma Grant and baking delicious hamantashen under the guidance of chef, Fabienne Viner-Luzzato. Over 50 families were welcomed to the Big Hamantashen Bake by Rabbi Ephraim Guttentag and Chayli Fehler, Director of Education at HGSS.
Emma showed the children how to make colourful spin drums to use as greggors at Purim and decorate them with smiley faces and beads. Then Fabienne, with the help of her son Elie, who is a pupil at the Aleph Centre, demonstrated how to bake hamantashen, complete with a variety of fillings – marshmallows, Oreo biscuits, sprinkles, chocolate chips and jam. The children joined in with great enthusiasm and shared pictures of their delicious creations.
