On Shabbat 24th December 2022, Rosh Hodesh Tevet, 6th Day Hanukkah 5783

Rabbi Levy served the community for over 50 years both as rabbi of Lauderdale Road synagogue and the Spiritual Leader of the Spanish & Portuguese Congregation in the United Kingdom.

Rabbi Levy was dedicated to Sephardi Jewry and wider Anglo Jewry.

He was also the founder and Honorary Principal of Naima Jewish Primary School, a Trustee of the Montefiore Endowment and Honorary Principal of it’s Kollel. At one time an Ecclesiastical authority for the Board of Deputies, Rabbi Levy held many positions across the Jewish community.

Rabbi Levy was awarded his OBE for inter faith relations and was widely respected by all denominations.
