Manchester’s Jewish community was deeply saddened Sunday to learn of the passing of one of its most influential and beloved Torah personalities, Hagaon Rav Moshe Kupetz zt”l.

Best known for his delightful and informative Torah Shiurim, in addition to establishing the Reshet network of Torah Shiurim in Manchester and beyond, Rav Kupetz touched the hearts and souls of thousands over the fifty years of teaching in Manchester.

Rav Moshe was also the second son in law of the revered Manchester Rosh Yeshiva, Harav Yehuda Zev Segal zt”l. He was one of the founding featured speakers of the now-famous Torah Way programme.

Stenecourt Synagogue issued a notification included in which was stated:

Rabbi Kupetz was one Manchester’s Outstanding Torah Education personalities, a towering figure here and beyond and an inspiring orator. He was a true friend of Stenecourt, where for many decades he was a regular and much looked forward to speaker on Shabbat Shuvah and Shabbat Hagadol (and quite often in between).

The levaya left from his home on Hanover Gardens.

He leaves behind his Rebbetzin Feigi, sons, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
