Joel Nathan has joined Maccabi GB’s Board of Trustees.

Nathan, Team Maccabi GB general team manager, has been involved with the Maccabi movement since Brady opened its doors in 1979.

Nathan’s appointment follows a summer of success at the 15th European Maccabi Games where he oversaw GB winning 96 medals.

Nathan also led the team to a record medal haul at the Maccabiah Games two years ago.

He has a strong affiliation to Jewish sport having played football for Brady Maccabi at every age group winning numerous honours and titles, culminating in Brady’s first Peter Morrison Cup triumph n 2013.

Nathan joined the club council in 2005, became club chairman in 2008, overseeing a merger between Brady Maccabi and London Maccabi and then as Maccabi London FC this year.

On an international level, Nathan represented Maccabi GB at the 1995 European Games and coached U16 football at the Maccabiah Games in 2009. The U16s won gold at the 2011 European Games and U18s claimed Maccabiah bronze two years later. He has been General Team Manager at the European Games in 2015 and 2019 and last Maccabiah.

Nathan said, “I’ve been involved on the international games side and will continue to do so but can see what great work they do for the community across all spectrums.”

Maccabi GB Chairman David Pinnick said, “Joel is a true ‘Maccabi man’ and will bring with him a wealth of sporting expertise combined with a legendary attention to detail.”

The announcement comes as applications open for the Maccabiah Games for managers and athletes who want to represent Great Britain across sporting disciplines.
