The group made their own poppies, with the children learning why we wear them and what they signify.

On Sunday 11th November, to commemorate Armistice Day and to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country, members of the Children’s Centre at Heathlands Village joined our residents in a poppy-making activity.

The group made their own poppies, with the children learning why we wear them and what they signify.

Wreaths were placed in the main reception of Heathlands Village

At the end of the activity, the wreaths were placed in the main reception of Heathlands Village, along with a poem and information about a British soldier who died 100 years ago – the great-grandfather of the husband of one of our staff.
