Adal Abu Hadayb planned to blow up the Leonardo Hotel in Ashdod according to Southern District prosecutors.

The 20-year-old from Bedouin town Rahat made homemade explosives after watching Hamas videos and YouTube clips prior to purchasing materials to make a bomb to “harm Jews” last year.

Hadayb became disillusioned over local policies in the Gaza Strip and unsuccessful attempts to build a bomb.

Previous charges included attempts to sell explosives in Rahat to a minor for NIS 400.

Hadayb backtracked but also bought an improvised rifle and carried out shooting drills.

State prosecutors requested Hadayb remains under arrest until legal proceedings end.
