Donald Trump is the third US President to be impeached by the House of Representatives.
Trump, who faces a Senate trial, is charged with abusing his power and obstructing Congress.
Nearly all Democrats voted for the charges, all Republicans voted against. The White House released a statement the President was confident he would be “fully exonerated” in a Senate trial.
Trump was addressing a campaign rally during voting in Battle Creek, Michigan.
He is expected to be acquitted as were past Presidents Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton.
